Corrections Policy

Corrections Policy

Spruce & Spatial is committed to providing accurate and reliable information to our readers. We publish articles that offer practical insights and guidance on design, spatial concepts, and related topics. Maintaining the trust of our audience depends on the precision of our content. We take all errors seriously and are dedicated to correcting them promptly and transparently.

Our Commitment to Accuracy

We strive for the highest standards of factual accuracy in all our publications. Our editorial team fact-checks information before articles are published. Despite our best efforts, occasional errors may occur. This policy outlines our process for addressing and correcting mistakes once they are identified.

Types of Corrections

We categorize errors and their corresponding corrections into three main types:

  • Minor Fixes: These include typographical errors, grammatical mistakes, punctuation errors, or broken links that do not alter the factual meaning of the content. We correct these errors in the article without a formal correction notice.
  • Significant Corrections: These involve factual inaccuracies, misstatements, or misleading information that could change a reader’s understanding of the topic. Examples include incorrect measurements, misattributed sources, or wrong dates. For such corrections, we update the article and add a visible editor’s note.
  • Retractions: A retraction occurs when an article is found to contain fundamental errors, plagiarized content, or information that is unsubstantiated and misleading in its core premise. In these rare instances, the article will be removed from the site, and a retraction notice will be published explaining the decision.

How Corrections Are Noted in Articles

For significant corrections, an editor’s note will appear directly within the affected article. This note specifies the date of the correction and clearly describes what information was changed. This ensures full transparency for our readers regarding modifications to the content.

Reporting an Error

We encourage our readers to help us maintain accuracy. If you believe you have found an error in an article, please report it to us. Send an email to [email protected].

When reporting an error, please include the following details:

  • The exact URL (web address) of the article.
  • A clear description of the alleged error.
  • The correct information, if known, and any supporting sources or evidence.

Timeline for Reviewing Reported Errors

Our editorial team reviews all reported errors seriously. We aim to acknowledge receipt of your report within 2 business days. A thorough review of the reported error will typically be completed within 5 business days. Complex cases might require more time.

Transparency of Correction History

All editor’s notes for significant corrections remain permanently affixed to the corrected articles. We believe in complete transparency regarding our content. This public record ensures that our readers are always aware of any changes made to previously published information.
